In this letter from Hernando Pizarro, he provides on update on Peru and how well the Spanish are succeeding in the conquest. During the time that this letter was written, Pizarro and his men had just arrived in Cajamarca, which is the main city of the Incas. Pizarro talks about interactions he had with the locals while also describing what the area looked like. This primary source is important because it gives the reader the ability to picture what Peru looked like at this time and this source provides some of the motives that influenced Pizarro, like gold and spreading Christianity.
